The NEET UG application asks for a photograph and a signature, both as JPG files. The signature limit is tiny, so a normal phone photo of a signature is nearly always too large.
The limits

How to resize
- Sign in black ink on white paper and photograph it close up.
- Open the NEET UG resizer and use the Signature tab.
- Download the JPEG; it will sit inside the 4 to 30 KB window.
- Repeat on the Photograph tab with a clear, recent picture.

Why the signature limit is the hard part
A signature file limited to 30 KB sounds generous until you photograph it with a modern phone, which easily produces a 2 to 4 MB file. Shrinking pixel dimensions alone helps, but the JPEG quality also has to be set carefully, because a signature has thin lines that blur when quality is too low. The resizer scales the picture and finds the highest quality that stays inside the window.
Photograph tips
- Use a recent, clear, front-facing picture with a plain background.
- Do not use beauty filters; a processed face can cause a mismatch at the exam centre.
- Keep the original camera file and resize from it, instead of from a screenshot.
Signature tips
- Sign in black or dark blue ink on plain white paper.
- Crop close to the signature so it fills the image.
- Use the same signature you will put on the attendance sheet at the exam.
